Brief Encounter

I took the reference photo for this piece on the first day. After we had been watching the ponies for a while they lost interest in us, and began to just be themselves. They played, grazed, and napped. These two ponies were grazing from the same bush of yellow flowers called broom, and had a short exchange with one another which resulted in this picture. I felt privileged to be allowed to capture these two interacting naturally. The symmetry between them, their beautiful coloring, and the softness of their interaction made them stand out brilliantly.
