Morning Stretch

After a nap, this pony got up to stretch his legs. I was able to capture this moment of tension during the stretch. This piece was great for practicing my hatching and cross hatching, as well as experimenting with alcohol markers on toned paper. I enjoyed bringing out the shapes of the leg muscles as they were tensed up from being stretched. For this piece I used pencil, alcohol markers, fine tip markers, and white color pencil for highlights.
